Laura Rodriguez is the Digital Accessibility Consultant within the Disability Access Services Unit of the Department of Rehabilitation. Her primary area of focus is how the American’s with Disabilities Act,
Section 508 (of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and California Government Code 7405) applies to the creation of accessible websites, documents and multi-media products. The presenter will offer seven basic principles for creating accessible documents and explore the importance and impact of accessibility for persons with disabilities. Additionally, she will demonstrate how using a screen reader can help you identify accessibility issues.
